The AFCFTA PROTOCOL brings a lot of threats and opportunities for women and girls in and out of trade. Using a gender lens, it is critical to ensure that women’s rights are protected and respected in trade as they are at the receiving end of different forms of violence that occur in cross-border trade. It poses a threat to their health, livelihoods, access to social services, and protection.
